A Lake Travis Restaurant On The Water with Granbury Roots

Three hours south of Austin rests the vibrant town of Granbury, Texas, voted again in the USA Today Reader’s Choice 2026 10BEST Awards as the “Best Historic Small Town.” Stumpy’s history became entwined with Granbury’s history in 2009, when the restaurant began to grow as a welcoming lakeside haven for boaters and travelers passing through.

Calling Stumpy’s Lakeside Grill “a restaurant” was an oversimplification: The Lake Granbury on-the-water dining experience is accompanied by Lake Granbury Marina, Stumpy’s Sweet Shack dessert shop, and the Stumpy’s Closet boutique gift store. The destination has drawn everyone from foreign dignitaries to Sea-Doo enthusiasts who need a hunger-erasing burger and a cold beer after a day on the lake.

Seventeen years and tens of thousands of customers later, Stumpy’s says “Hello” to Austin, Texas, with a “Why don’t you come over and let us feed you the best meal on Lake Travis?” Stumpy’s of Lake Travis carries on the VIP Marinas culture and atmosphere of a place that is welcoming, service-driven, and pairs heart-settling lakeside views with an on-the-water dining experience that makes you feel like you can forget yesterday and tomorrow.

Stumpy’s Lake Travis hosts weekly live music and themed nights, and is located on the property formerly known as Shack 512 Restaurant. We are hosted by our “sister marina” here at Sandy Creek Marina, and all VIP Marinas members – whether from our Texas, Oklahoma, or Florida locations – receive five percent off all food and drinks.

We look forward to helping you make the best memories on Lake Travis, serving an experience under the night lights and straight to the tastebuds.
