Our team of chefs at Stumpy’s prides itself on creating a unique twist on Texas lake food, with a special dedication to the freshest ingredients. We serve wild-caught Gulf colossal shrimp in our po’boys and baskets, fresh beef in our half-pound burgers, tastebud-tantalizing fresh green chiles, cheese, and jalapenos, and all of our salsa is housemade with blends of fire-roasted and fresca flavor profiles.
We are home to a “Burger Bar,” where we welcome you to Build Your Own Burger and pile on the toppings. If you’d like to keep your lakeside dining more traditional with a basket of fried cod and hushpuppies – absolutely, we can’t wait to serve you.
Tie up, then chow down: A true Lake Travis restaurant on the water
Stumpy’s is proud to be a true on-the-water dining experience for Lake Travis boaters. We are accessible by water on the northeast end of Lake Travis, with boat parking graciously provided by our host marina at Sandy Creek Marina. We encourage hungry boaters to tie up, stop in, and enjoy a fantastic meal.
From Then To Now: The Original Stumpy’s
Stumpy’s Lakeside Grill is a Lake Granbury destination opened in 2009. The restaurant has grown into a North Texas dining icon, consistently voted “Best of” for its tacos and catfish, and includes the Stumpy’s Closet boutique gift and general store, Stumpy’s Sweet Shack dessert shop, and Lake Granbury Marina, which is home to much of the Lake Granbury boating culture and a fine destination for kids to feed the dockside carp.
Stumpy’s Lake Travis was born in the spring of 2026 out of the two decades of excellence at the original Stumpy’s. Sandy Creek Marina hosts Stumpy’s Lake Travis as an exciting restaurant-on-the-water complement to VIP Marinas’ five marinas that serve boaters across Lake Travis (VIP Lake Travis, Northshore Marina, Jones Harbor Marina, Waterford Marina, and Sandy Creek Marina). We’re thrilled to bring Austin eaters and Lake Travis boaters the Stumpy’s experience with a Lake Travis twist.

We value all of our VIP Marina members on Lake Travis and anyone who has a boat or jet ski in a slip at VIP Lake Travis, Northshore Marina, Jones Harbor Marina, Waterford Marina, or Sandy Creek Marina will receive five percent off every meal.
